Privacy Policy — Olly English Virtual

Olly English Virtual (“OEV”) is the live-tutoring side of the Olly English platform. This policy covers the data processed by the tutoring platform specifically. It supplements the platform-wide Olly English Privacy Policy, which also applies to your account.

Data we collect

• Account information (name, email, role — student, teacher, or admin)
• Booking and session records, attendance, and lesson history
• Homework submissions, assignments, scores, and teacher feedback
• Messages you exchange on the platform, including photos and voice notes you attach (stored in Firebase Storage, visible only to the conversation participants and platform moderators)
• Progress, streaks, leaderboard points, and certificate data
• Push-notification tokens, if you enable browser notifications for new messages (you can revoke this in your browser at any time)
• Payment records for lessons, processed securely by Stripe — we never store card numbers

How we use your data

Your data is used to deliver tutoring services: scheduling and running lessons, assigning and reviewing homework, messaging between students and teachers, sending class notifications, and issuing certificates. Transactional emails (such as password resets) are delivered via Resend. We do not sell your data to third parties and we do not share it with advertisers.

Live classroom games

Guests joining a live quiz game are signed in anonymously and only a chosen nickname and game score are processed. Anonymous game data is not linked to a personal account.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. See the platform Privacy Policy for the full list of your rights under UK/EU GDPR and how we handle retention.
