Usa next to, under, between, in front of y behind para describir dónde está algo. Se dice The cat is under the table, no The cat is on under the table.
Cada preposición describe una posición distinta. Next to significa al lado, muy cerca: The lamp is next to the sofa. Under significa debajo: The cat is under the table. In front of significa delante, frente a: The car is in front of the house. Behind significa detrás: The garden is behind the house. Between significa en medio de dos cosas — siempre necesita dos cosas, no una: The pen is between two books.
