Was and were are the past forms of am, is, and are. We use them to talk about people, places, and situations in the past. π―

| Short answer | Yes, I was. / No, I wasn't. | Was she there? Yes, she was. |
It is easy to change am/is/are to was/were. Just remember the rule:
