La respuesta rápida

Una question tag es una pregunta corta al final de la oración. Pide al oyente que confirme algo que crees cierto: You are coming, aren't you? Una oración afirmativa lleva tag negativo, y una negativa lleva tag positivo.

La regla

El tag repite el auxiliar de la oración principal: She has left, hasn't she? Si no hay auxiliar, usa do, does o did: You play tennis, don't you? They left early, didn't they? El pronombre del tag sustituye al sujeto: The bus is late, isn't it? Tras una palabra negativa como never o nobody, el tag es positivo: Nobody called, did they?

Dos formas especiales: I am usa aren't I (I am invited, aren't I?), y Let's usa shall we.

Errores comunes

• ❌ You speak Spanish, isn't it? → ✅ You speak Spanish, don't you? El español usa un tag universal (¿verdad?, ¿no?); el inglés copia el auxiliar de cada oración.
• ❌ He arrived late, doesn't he? → ✅ He arrived late, didn't he? Una oración en pasado simple siempre lleva did en el tag.
• ❌ They are late, are they? → ✅ They are late, aren't they? Una oración afirmativa cambia a tag negativo.
• ❌ Nothing happened, didn't it? → ✅ Nothing happened, did it? Nothing es una palabra negativa, así que el tag queda positivo.
