Kısa cevap

Yakındaki bir şey için this ve these, uzaktaki bir şey için that ve those kullanılır. Tek bir şey için this/that, birden fazla şey için these/those kullanılır.

Kural

Kelimeyi belirleyen iki şey vardır: ne kadar uzakta olduğu ve kaç tane olduğu. İkisini birleştirdiğinde tek bir doğru seçenek kalır.

Dört kelime de tek başına özne olabilir (This is my book) ya da bir isimden önce gelebilir (This book is mine). Anlam değişmez, sadece cümle yapısı değişir.
